Review

This book was interesting and but a little confusing when they talk about the King. I was told it was a futuristic book and it was BUT it all took place on an island that had never been touch since it was first inhabited by a Roman's family atleast until a man who was shipwrecked and 2 who landed with parachutes about 100 years before the story starts. They didn't really bring much to the island as far as technology so they have lived the same way for thousands of years.

It is your basic prince and princess romance with "The King" whom you later discover to be Jesus in the mix. I like how they bring "The King" to the people of the Island but I found there interaction with Jesus alittle far fetched. I pray, but they see him and carry on long conversations and he comes to them in person and celebrates with them at there festival. I don't know if the Rapture has taken place and he is on earth with us or if it is another explaination. It turned me off alittle but not enough that I didn't want to read the whole book.

The drama on the island picks up as the book goes along and there are some amazing twists and turns in the story that leave to wanting more right up till the end. Some scenes drag while others go by way to fast. I would love to read the 2nd book in this series, if only to see where they author goes from here.

REVIEW

This was an interesting book. I loved how history overlapped with what was going on in the future. This book is about the discovery of a new person accused of being a witch during the Salem Witch Trials and finding her "book" and how her grandaughter, many times removed, discovers it and her powers. It is about love and lose and discovery and of course it has an evil eliment.

The problem with this book is it's sooo slow paced atleast until the last few chapters where it all starts to come together. For that alone I gave it 2 out of 5 starts. I don't like being bored in a book and this one unfortuanatly was boring. The history facts were interesting but the current timeline just dragged along.

I do not know if I would read another of this authors books, it would REALLY have to stand out to me.

Review Beauty dates the Beast by Jessica Sims 5 Stars

I thought this book was amazing. It was hot and romantic at the same time. It is fast paced and keeps you wanting more. I couldn't put it down until I finished it. I can't wait for the next book in this series.

Bathsheba is a human female working in a paranormal dating service. Her boss is a Siren and a *****. Her sister is a werewolf in hiding, who shifts at the slightest sign of something going wrong. Did I mention that Bath is a virgin, yep and that is just the start of this awesome adventure.

Beau Russell is a were-cougar. Head of the local Alliance and the go to man for all the loners in the para world. Beau has a problem, the only female were-cougar in the territory is going into heat and so is he, but she is his cousing and he needs a girl for a week long trist bad!!!

Beau's luck goes down hill and his "date" from the dating service cancels on him and he needs a replacement fast. Bathsheba is the office manager and when a problem comes up its up to her to fix it. When Beau's date falls through, Bath finally agrees to go on 1 date with Beau with NO SEX. And the rest is hot romantic history.

You have a Twitter account, and you know the basics. You can reply, retweet messages, include a link, and you know how to mention tweeps (Twitter peeps). So what else is there? Here are ten simple things you can do to promote your writing and your books on Twitter.

Bonus tip: Use your writing name as your twitter handle. Mine is @kayelleallen.

Keep in mind that Twitter is a source. Use it as a tool to find new friends, learn new tricks, and in doing so, spread your name before the masses.
On your Twitter home page, click the @yourname link to see a list of mentions and followers. Send out a "Welcome new followers" message and list your new tweeps. Be sure to include the @ symbol with their handles, so others can find them. People love to be mentioned.
Follow other authors in your genre, and involve them in your tweets.
Retweet their book announcements. What goes around comes around.
When you read an article about books, marketing, or writing, copy the URL and paste it into Twitter to share with tweeps. Be a resource.
Thank people for retweeting your tweets. To do this, highlight the message, copy it, then click reply, and paste it into the blank message. In front write "Thanks for the RT". If you're short on space, you can put TY 4 RT. This sends out your message again, and both mentions and thanks the other person. And yes, this is appropriate to do. You can also reply, and just say Thanks for the RT.
For every one thing you say about your books, find ten things to say about others. If you do this consistently, when you post info about a book trailer, a new release, or a blog you've posted, your tweeps will retweet it.
Use #hashtags that others are using. Click them, and they'll conduct an immediate search for everywhere the tag is being used, showing you some useful information. Some helpful ones: #authors #ebooks, #books, #amwriting, #askeditor, #nanowrimo, #pubtip, #writertips, #marketing... You get the drift. Here's a list for more ideas. http://is.gd/HmZiPI On the right side of your home page, you'll see Trending Topics. Click a few of these and read for a bit. Retweet ones that amuse or touch you. You might find a new follower or someone to follow as well.

Write What You Feel by Venus Cahill CONTEST

I'm a big believer in the old adage write what you know.
Or rather what I should say is write what you feel. I cannot talk for all writers but for me there is always a piece of myself in everything I write, the need to relate to one of my characters, which is why I prefer my heroines to be curvy girls. I hated the fact that all the girls and later the women who resembled me were either the best-friend, the third-wheel or the comedic relief. I didn't want to be the side-kick, I wanted to be me and get my sexy man.

Even as a child when I would spin tales of fairies and princesses they always looked like me, after all I couldn't rely on picture books or television where all of the pretty girls were always blond, thin and beautiful. I'm beautiful too so why can't I have my very own fairy tale?
Now don't get me wrong I still want the fantasy of the typical romance novel but I want to be able to close my eyes and easily picture myself in the heroine's shoes. Shoes in most cases I would not be caught dead in, really if you knew what a klutz I am you would understand the horror the thought of spiked high-heels instills in me.Just because I write my women on the curvy side does not mean everything I write about is autobiographical. To my knowledge, I have never met a werewolf or a vampire; I have never had sex with a stranger in a darkened photography development lab and I've never murdered a co-worker. Yet every piece I write is a piece of me, full of my feelings and emotions, the imaginings of my soul.
I write because I have to, it is a something I have to do, something that makes me happy. It is my passion and in so doing I feel I must stay true to myself and that is why I write curvy women. I am a different kind of heroine and I chose to believe that there are others out their like me.

You can blame my parents for my love of reading and my personality! My first vivid memory is of my mother sitting me down on the potty with a book in my hands. Ever since then I will read anything available including extremely outdated magazines and shampoo bottles (rinse and repeat).
As far as my personality, when you are named for an amatory Roman Goddess you can’t help but start reading Harlequin novels when your classmates are still reading Judy Blume.
When I was a teen my father used to yell at me to get outside in the fresh air and I would have to sneak a book down my pant-leg, which was no easy task seeing as I was (and still am) a supreme klutz who trips over her own feet at least twice a day.
I usually have a minimum of four books on the go at the same time. I read fiction and non-fiction anything I can get my hands on; I love kilted hotties, demons with hearts of gold, and shape shifting Alpha males. My favorite heroines are curvy gals, after all I find them easy to relate to. However my favorites are happily-ever-after romances.

Zeke is a demon, a "good" demon. He gave up his old life, taking souls for Satan, because he wanted to save souls instead. Zeke takes Bryanna back to Strange Hollow, a community tha is made up of supernatural creatures who don't fit in anywhere else. It's perfect for a good demon and a witch whose powers go wonky.

When Zeke meets Bryanna, its lust at first site. He feels the need to protect her from getting hurt, even from himself. Zeke has been trying to make up for his early life as a soul taker. Neither are looking for love but they don't deny their attraction to each other.

When Layton shows up to get Bryanna back things get crazy. Will she finally see him for the liar he is or will she leave with him and go back to a life full of lies and dissapproval???

Whatnots and Doodads is the perfect short story. It has just enough action, romance and background info to awnser all your questions. It has the perfect balance and does not overstress one area of the story and leave the rest lacking with tons of questions like other short stories and some full length novels do.

The characters are well thought out and come together to make this story one of the best I have ever read. It really pulls you in from the beginning of the story and leaves you wanting more at the end. I do not usually read short stories because they always leave unawnsered questions or the balance is wrong but I am THRILLED to say that isn't the case with Whatnots and Doodads. I truly hope to hear more from Bryanna and Zeke and the small community of Strange Hallow.

Landau has been a vampire for thousands of years and he has built a new life for himself, with one small problem he can't have sex...

When Julija first meets Landau, face to face, sparks fly and Landau feels passion for the 1st time since his Ivory Elf days. Julija feels the pull but is discusted that she would feel anything for this vampire and tries to concentrate on staying out of Landau's reach, getting the book back and keeping King Alberic from abusing her further.

Will Julija be able to get back the book before she loses more than her pride... like her heart and can Landau learn to trust someone again after the betrayal of his people.

This is a very Erotic book. If you like a mixture of Fairies, Vamps and magic then this is the book for you. It has unexpected twists and turns that keep you wanting more. Its a great read for a cold dark night :)

My Dad's a Paranormal Investigator: Seeking Shapeshifters by Rebekah Purdy , 5 Stars Review

I think that this was an amazing book. I love YA books aswell as adult books and I like to read most YA's before I let me daughters read them and this book would be perfect for any child ages 12+. It was well written and I love the main theme of the book.

Ima Blue Berry is the child of a paranormal investigator who has his own TV show Berry PI. Ima is loves the paranormal as much as her father but when the TV season ends they move to Alaska to look for more places to investigate in the off season. Ima soon discovers that there is more to Alaska than just ghosts... boys. She also has to decide who to trust and if blood is thicker than water.

The end of the book leaves a few unawnsered questions that I would have loved to know the awnsers to but it is a great opportunity for Ms Purdy to write a sequel, HINT HINT :) I hope that you will all check out this book and even if you don't normally read YAs this is a book that doesn't disappoint even for those of us that prefer more adult genres.

"I want MORE!!!" was the first thing I thought when I finished this book. Gracen Miller's book leaves you hanging on the edge of your seat and keeps you asking for more more more!!! It is non-stop action from beginning to end and has very surprising twists and turns that keep you on the edge of your seat.
The main heroine and hero, Madison and Pheonix, are the perfect characters. They are funny, snarky and sexy. They come from two different worlds but then their worlds collide in some very interesting ways. You can really feel what the characters are feeling and its like you are in the book with them, seeing what they are seeing and experiencing what they are experiencing. You can't help but want more.
I love paranormal books and it is very hard to find a good paranormal author. In my opinion Ms. Miller's book, Pandora's Box, has covered all the bases in a good suspenseful, action packed, romantic paranormal book. I am definatly looking forward to book two in this series and I can only hope that Gracen has many many many more stories to come in this series.

Howdy, folks! A super big thank you to Brandy for allowing me to join you to promote my new release—out this Friday!—Pandora’s Box, book one Road to Hell series! I won’t bore you with trivialities, but I’ll just get straight to my topic… Hellhounds!

Have you ever wanted to be a part of a group where everyone is welcome and fits in? Well, you can! I have an awesome group of fans/readers (many have become great friends—like Brandy!) that call themselves my Hellhounds!

Are you familiar with the supernatural creature? Hellhounds are commonly thought of as paranormal dogs that have vigor and speed. Maybe they have red or yellow glowing eyes and stink like the Hell they might have leapt from. In some literature and movies, the mystical canines are invisible, and are either the cause of a person’s death or an omen of death.

The Welsh Hellhound is called Cŵn Annwn, and even though it is considered a friendly creature, it remains an omen of death. A death omen seems to be a common lore. Cerberus from Greek Mythology is a well-known Hellhound, which is a multi-headed dog that guards the Underworld. Not an omen of death, but still deals with death.

When I created my Road to Hell series Facebook fan page, I got tired of calling all the new likers “members”. It felt like they needed to have a name, something fun, but something they approved of. I held a vote asking the members of the page to suggest names they wanted to be called. “Hellhounds” won the vote. My Hellhounds aren’t as ominous as the various mythical creatures, and they’re not omens of death. The Road to Hell series Hellhounds are better described in a bunch of different ways. Some are chatty, funny, and sweet. Others are naughty, wicked, but supportive and always eager to help promote. Or they’re a combination of all the traits. They’re just regular folks—like you and me!—but they are the most awesome group of fans/friends a gal could have. I am proud to have all of their support and friendship. I’ve enjoyed getting to know all of them and I’m always eager to meet more.

This day is about honoring my Hellhounds! I invite all of them to come tell you a little about themselves in the comment section. Or tell others why they should be a Hellhound, what’s so special about being one? Come on Hellhounds, everyone needs to see how awesome you are! She nodded and watched as he doused gauze with antiseptic. “Dr. Nix at your service,” he said with a grin, two adorable dimples charming her where words failed.

Madison rolled her eyes, and tipped her head to the side to give him better access. He brushed her hair off her neck, back behind her shoulder. Such a simple gesture, yet it felt terribly personal. The air grew thick and sticky with her awareness of him. She shifted in her seat and crossed her legs.

Madison stared into his eyes. Green, she thought, his eyes were green, gorgeous and intense, with ridiculously long eyelashes women would fantasize about. If they didn’t, they should. A flicker of compassion, concern, and something else she couldn’t identify flashed in his eyes.

“Ready?” he asked.

The husky tenor of his voice forced her gaze to shift to his mouth. Nice, sexy lips, designed for kissing. She gave a mental shake but couldn’t resist wondering how his mouth would feel on hers.

“Madison?” Humor deepened his voice, a touch of a smile tilted the edges of the lips she’d been fantasizing about, and she realized she still stared at them. “You ready?” he asked again, and her eyes widened in embarrassment over her foolish stupor.

She swallowed hard. “Yeah.” She whispered past the lump in her throat and forced her vision to lock on the wall over his shoulder. Good God, what was wrong with her? Her pulse throbbed like crazy, and she felt woozy. Loss of blood! Must be why she reacted that way. No other explanation made sense.

Even though the antiseptic stung like hell, the gentle touch coming from such a gruff man surprised her. “It’s not bad,” he said, dabbing the blood away. “Just a nick.”

Well, she could nix the blood loss theory. Exhaustion and stress were the only other excuses she could come up with. “I’ve suffered worse.” Her voice sounded off, kind of hoarse. She tried to clear her throat delicately, but he must have noticed her unease, because his perceptive eyes met hers. Again, she thought she caught the edge of concern reflected in their green depths.

“This isn’t the first time he’s attacked you?”

“No. It’s the first time he’s tried to seriously kill me, though.” She sighed as she closed her eyes, ready to give up fighting, the sudden tears threatening to fall. Okay, woozy and acting strange because of strain…not because of him. Seriously, as far as first impressions went, she wasn’t impressed.

Hi Everyone. I saw this post and I thought I would share. I have seen this list floating around of classic books that everyone should read. I love to read and had always thought I was an accomplished reader but by this I am soooo behind. I think that there are a few books that have been left off like Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, Dante's Inferno, Swiss Family Robinson, some Edgar Allen Poe or the Iliad and the Odyssey. I have read 18 of these and 2 that I am still working on, one I won't finish (not much of a Shakespeare fan). I think there are some that shouldn't be on here.

I want to end the hate and fear in school of kids who are different or treated differently by either teachers or students. I want to reach out and help lead the way for that group as well.

Mom is sick...

Hi, My name is Macy and I am Brandy's daughter. Mom is sick right now. She is having more surgery complications.

Contest Revisiting Characters Years Later... by Cynthia Vespia

We all know by now how novels are birthed. An idea is impregnated in my brain that must claw its way out before the host body is threatened. Novel is then nurtured through the initial pages, edited, and sent off into the world to find its place.

But sometimes that novel returns with luggage in hand looking for a place to crash for the night, which inevitably turns into months and then years. I know it sounds like I'm speaking about children, right? Well, in a way, a writer's work is their baby. Sometimes a beautiful blessed child and others a spoiled brat.

I have a fond place in my heart for everything I write even if it never sees the light of day. My new thriller Life, Death, and Back had a strange journey. The novel itself is the story of a man named Bryan Caleb's sudden death and subsequent return to form as a guardian angel of sorts. This was the initial story that stirred awake inside me (during yoga class of all things) almost ten years ago. I finished it, put it away, and went on to something else. I'm a little OCD that way, but aren't we all? Don't deny it.

So in all honesty a year rolled by when I was visited by this story again. It returned to me as I was minding my own business completely unaware. Knee deep in something I'm sure was important, it crept up behind me and bludgeoned me with a fresh continuation of the initial idea: Bryan now dead for so many years is suddenly resurrected. After picking myself up from the floor I took the bait and jumped right in. What wicked fun it is to write about a character fresh from the dead. Even in a contemporary piece there are no real rules!

I married parts I&II together and had myself quite a delectable little tale ready to be unleashed on the world. Then I of course put it aside and moved on with indulging more latent tendencies. It seemed this novel may never really see the world until one day my present publisher Sue Durkin at Weaving Dreams came across it. Sue enjoyed the story and wanted to release it but with one special request: We needed a third and final installment to round everything out.

I was up for the challenge but it quickly became daunting. It had been awhile since I'd seen Bryan and his crazy friends. I'd been knee deep in my other novels like Demon Hunter and the female gladiators in The Crescent. So I had to go back and find out who these people were, what made them tick.

What I found out is that these characters become a part of you. As soon as you breathe life into them they remain with you for all time, ever so subtle but still alive in your memory. It didn't take me long to pick right up where I left off...and let me tell you it was fun!

I've written a series before. But Demon Hunter was done back-to-back with virtually no break in between. For Life, Death, and Back a great deal of time accrued from start to finish. But I really did enjoy revisiting my old friends and putting them through more ordeals and troubles they had to find their way out of. Good times!

CHAPTER I

The first sojourn from life to death was very much the epitome of birth. Brilliant flashes of light were aglow all around bathing snapshots of memory, minute but hardly trivial.

When the ride stopped and the suspension of disbelief released him, Bryan was curious to find his own corpse stretched out at his feet. It lay on the grassy lawn in front of his office building, twenty feet from where he had initially been walking.

The corpse, his corpse, stared up at him through one wide eye. Sightless now it still echoed the feeling of shock that he had felt the very moment the vehicle had struck him.

Though he wanted to look away from the tragic scene utter terror and confusion gripped him still. Pedestrians and motorists surrounded the accident and sirens wailed in the distance. He was oblivious to it all.

All Bryan wanted to do was crawl back inside his body, stand up and say, "Hey, look at me, I'm fine. Not a scratch." Then there were strong impulses pulling him into the belief that this was just a nightmare. At any moment he was going to respond with a shudder and a cold sweat but he would wake, frantic at first, until he found himself in bed next to his lovely wife, Holly.

He hadn't bothered to wake her that morning. She was radiantly aglow in her pregnancy as she slept. It was their very first child and they were overjoyed to be experiencing this miracle after only one year of marriage.

Bryan had kissed her on the cheek and gone on his way to the law firm. His place of business was another joyful experience to be able to share with Holly. Bryan was the youngest of his class to seek and sustain a substantial position within a reputable law firm. Of course it helped that his father had owned and maintained the firm since Bryan had been a boy. But now it was his own, inheriting it when his father had passed away just two years after Bryan had graduated from law school.

It was an unusually cloudy day in Stanford, but nevertheless Bryan was in an upbeat mood. Whistling as he crossed the street to his offices he had never even seen the drunk driver's vehicle coming. Perhaps he had not wanted to. As the saying goes he had been looking upon the world with rose-colored glasses up to that point. No harm could befall him, he was indestructible. Throughout life Bryan had truly felt blessed, now it was all gone. In an instant his entire life had been snuffed out. His promising future was no more. All that was left was another casualty in the war of drinking and driving. He was no longer Bryan Adam Caleb outstanding lawyer, loving husband, expectant father, and genuine nice guy. Now he was just another statistic.

But Bryan didn't understand what was happening. If he was dead, why was he still on this Earth? What happened to the other side? So many unanswered questions tore through his mind.

He refused to believe it.

As paramedics encompassed the accident scene Bryan turned and ran. His mind was in frenzy and he just needed to get away, get some space to determine what in the world was going on.

His pace quickened to the point where he felt as though he had wings and could lift off. Finally he came to a stop at the end of the block and to his surprise he was not at all fatigued. His leg muscles did not ache and he was not breathing heavy. In fact, he was not breathing at all.

Still in disbelief he went to check his pulse for some sign that he was still alive. His fingers passed straight through his arm. There was no solidity to his wrist at all. He tried two more times with nothing but the same result.

Bryan looked around frantically for help. With his head on a swivel, something above him caught his eye. Lights gleamed up in the sky like as though a great crystal was wedged between two clouds precariously placed for the sun to shine off it.

He stood awed looking at the magnificent colors waning in every direction. It brought him a smile and a sense of peace. After a moment he even thought he glimpsed his loving father's face high above beckoning him to come forward and join him.

Bryan began to imagine just how nice it would be to be at his father's side again and to see his mother again in perfect and simple bliss.

The lights shone brighter and began to descend down towards him. Bryan stood stock still as they came closer and closer. The bright glare was such that he had to close his eyes but the pleasant images still remained. He felt his feet lift off the ground and he began to rise up with the jubilation.

Many wondrous memories were encompassing him now. Simple joys he new as a boy, more substantial and rich emotions of love and faith and virtue that he'd experienced as a man. Those worlds of days long since past were uniting on a grand scale and lifting Bryan up higher and higher into ecstasy the likes of which he had never known before. But with this cataclysm of extraordinary peace came relevance and a fear.

This illuminated structure of memories was a portal allowing him access to the other side. It was the ever after, bounty and life everlasting would be soon to come. Bryan's time here on Earth had been full but was now over. But he wasn't ready to leave yet.

"No," he stated. His voice was low at first as he still clung to the tranquility of the descending portal and the majesty of what it was.

He tried hard to shake it off, feeling indifference of a strong nature. Something was wrong. He did not belong here, not now. There was too much left for him to do. He did not want to leave his unborn child fatherless. The Caleb Family Law Practice was on a steady rise; Bryan needed to leave his legacy before he left this Earth.

As his will to stay grew stronger and stronger he shouted "No!" more defiantly than before and this time it broke him away from the suction of the light.

"Up?" she pointed, unable to believe her ears.

Trey gave her a hard shove.

"Get going!"

"But how?"

"Grab the vines and pull yourself up!" he shouted over the thundering rain.

"You must be joking! It’s got to be one hundred feet high!"

"Good calculation. Now move!"

She stood her ground. "But why?"

"A. There’s no other way. B. I’m ordering you to. And you’ll listen if you ever want to get out of here."

Trey stifled an urge to smack her luscious wet bottom and watched in amusement as she struggled to grab hold of the slick vines, then smirked as she scrambled up a few feet and then landed in the muck with a splat. Her thick mane of black hair, once so splendidly coifed, was heavily matted and caked in mud.

"Again!" he yelled.

Raindrops, big as bullets, pelted her mercilessly. "I can’t do it. It’s impossible."

"Watch the master," he said, stowing the camera in his backpack.

He brushed her aside and grabbed one of the sturdier vines, then pulled himself up arm over arm with the agility of a spider monkey until he reached the top of the cliff where he had a perfect view of the lush jungle canopy and could see for miles.

"Now you know how it’s done. Get your ass up here or I’ll leave you behind."

"You can’t do that. You wouldn’t."

"Pull yourself up, Kingsley. If you have to, use the side of the cliff to push off and boost yourself higher. But watch out for the holes. There may be spiders and bats hiding in those nooks and crannies."

Erica re-tied her sagging ponytail and pinned it to her scalp. Her breath was ragged, her heartbeat erratic.

From above, she heard the sudden monotonous drone of a plane’s engine cutting through the rain splatter, then listened to the sputter as the motor spit and coughed, struggling to stay aloft. Wings slashed through the jungle over her head five hundred feet from her, both turbo props flaming. The plane wobbled and rolled before hitting the ground with an ear-splitting shriek of steel against steel followed by a blinding explosion of light that knocked her off her feet.

A sickening sensation shot through her and she suppressed the urge to vomit. The stench of black smoke as dark as blood filled her nostrils. She knew what had happened. She hoped to God she was wrong, but more than ever she wished with all her heart and soul that she was still safely home in Miami Beach and that she had never come.

From a safe distance, comfortably positioned to witness the entire spectacle, a smiling figure breathed a sigh of relief. It had all gone according to plan. On schedule and on time. You’ve already met my sexy cyber butler and know that he serves your favorite drink with a wink and a smile. What you may not know is that Oliver serves as my butler to amuse himself on his days off from his real job (as he points out to me on a daily basis) as a secret agent man for the FBI. It’s true, Oliver has put his life on the line countless times to save the women and children, traveling undercover to remote corners of the world as Mozambique, Egypt and Bangladesh.

I created the character of Oliver shortly after creating my blog. Knowing I wanted to promote fellow authors once a week, Wednesday Spotlight was born. The interviews were fun, and while I tried to ask questions that hadn’t been asked a million times over, I soon realized blog interviews were quickly becoming yesterday’s news. Something fresh needed to be done and it came to me at the bar and grill I go to once a month with my writers group after the meetings.

The bistro has a warm and friendly atmosphere. This group of talented writers have become some of my best friends, and sharing ideas and challenges over a glass of wine and scrumptious appetizers is very rewarding.

Our waiter, an outgoing man with the gift of gab and a memory like a steel trap to boot, inspired the character of Oliver. He knew us all by name and impressed us by never forgetting our favorite drink and choice in cuisine. The entire scenario was rather reminiscent of one of my all time favorite television shows of the 80s Cheers—a place where everybody knows your name!

One night after returning home from a meeting and jaunt to our favorite watering hole, I turned on my computer and began doing my feature for Wednesday Spotlight. That’s when the idea of Oliver Butler for my blog hit me like a bolt of thunder. I got a sexy male model and ran with it. Oliver is a butler, bar tender, gourmet chef, lady killer and secret agent man. This man of many talents knows everybody’s name and will serve favorite drinks with a wink and a smile!

With the dawning of a new year came the launching of a new endeavor, featuring the man who wears many hats. Every Wednesday, those who have something to rant and rave about are invited to come into Oliver’s bar, order your favorite drink and vent to your heart’s content. Oliver promises to lend an ear and offer up a heaping portion of sound advice. But you know what they say about being forewarned and forearmed. Take his advice to heart or take it with a grain of salt. But whatever the case, take it in the spirit with which it was given and roll with it.

As if all this isn’t enough to keep Oliver busy, he began bugging me about starring as romantic hero in one of my books. What can I say.

With an abrupt bang, the line went dead. Dominique sat staring at the phone cord dangling in mid air, polarized. She felt the tremor from deep in her gut, rising high in her chest and through her throat. Her mouth was wide open but nothing came out. But when she heard a sharp wrap at the door, she erupted like a quaking volcano and let loose with a piercing wail that rattled the chandelier.

“Dominique, open up. It’s the police, Detective Oliver Carvalho. Let me in.”

Racing to the door, hands trembling as her fingers fumbled to undo the dead bolt, she flung the door open and thrust herself in the detective’s arms. Her voice came out in jumbled fragments. “He…the attacker…” she jabbed her forefinger over her shoulder toward the bedroom phone where the receiver dangled. “Said he’d call back…twenty four hours. Wants them, diamond and camera. Feed me to the sharks if I call the cops.” Her voice broke, tears streaming down her face and onto Oliver’s shirt collar. “He knows my name…saw me take pictures…he’s…”

“Easy,” Oliver’s muscular arms draped around her waist. Then he walked her backward to the bedroom, giving her a gentle shove onto the bed. Then he snatched up the receiver from the rug, clapped it to his ear. Lips puckered, he slammed it back into the cradle and stared at her.

His fiery gaze was scorching hot. A slow heat burned in her belly as his eyes rake her long, slender neck, stopping to linger on her exposed cleavage. Then lower still to her bare legs where the cherry red silk robe rode high on her upper thighs. Then that penetrating gaze seared into hers. His words came out, laced with enough heat to have her quaking at full throttle.

“Tell me what he said, word for word.”

Dominique licked her lips, reached for her cocktail. The ice cubes had melted and beads of moisture had seeped onto the teakwood night stand. She took a sip. “He told me he knew I had the diamond and he knew I took pictures. He said I had twenty-four hours to hand them over, that he’d be in touch. He said no cops…or…” her voice broke off, lips quivering. “He threatened to feed me to the sharks, said they were hungry. He said Roberto, he called him lover boy, just wet their appetite for dessert.”

The detective nodded, prodding her to go on. “What else?”

“Nothing, the line went dead. Then you knocked at the door. I thought it was him, the caller. I thought he came to…”

Detective Carvalho waved off what she was about to say. “I went to the Honolulu Clinic this morning because I had more questions. They informed me you’d been discharged and had been transported by taxi to this hotel.”

Dominique stared at the detective, mute. His eyes were identical to Roberto’s. It was disarming. How could she possibly accept the fact this man standing less than a foot away from her with desire burning in his eyes wasn’t Roberto? She couldn’t. Her mind refused to accept it. She had to send the signal to her brain because her heart sure wasn’t getting the message. But when his scorching gaze raked her body, evoking feelings in her Roberto never had, her breath caught in her throat. She wanted to reach for him, coil herself in his strong embrace, feel his heart beat with hers. And she wanted him to rip off her sexy lingerie and devour every inch of her body. She bit her lip, mortified. How could she be thinking about sex at a time like this? And why was Roberto’s twin brother stirring her blood to liquid heat with his burning gaze? It’s me again. I thought I’d talk about my latest release, a paranormal entitled, Careless Whisper. All of my books are near and dear to my heart, each with its own special reasons. The reasons I love Careless Whisper are the characters and the premise. What is the premise you might ask? Ah...come closer. Let me tell you all about it.

Imagine you can see ghosts. The dead are indeed dead, but you can’t really tell. They appear real enough to you. And what if a guy that’s totally out of your league proceeds to tell you, you can not only see ghosts, but you can help them move on? If you’re like me or in this case, Samara, you’d probably not believe him. Now imagine, too, that the hunk in question, is the star of a reality show where he hunts ghosts and proves the paranormal. Buying into it yet?

That’s why I love Samara, Ryan and the premise for the book. She’s not at all what he expects to be attracted to, and yet he is. She can’t begin to fathom the stories he’s telling her, and yet, somehow, somewhere, it makes sense.

But there’s a third element to the story and the ‘with or without you’ portion. One of the spirits in need of moving on is none other than Ryan’s deceased wife, Felicity. Of all my antagonists, she’s a favorite. Why? She’s got pluck. She had Ryan and walked away. Now that she can’t have him at all, she wants him madly.

It’s rather sadly funny. We want what we can’t have and when we have it, we don’t want it. People can relate to that concept. I know I can. People can also relate to wanting to see those we can’t anymore. I’d love to have conversations with my great grandparents. Unfortunately, they both passed before I really had a chance to show I was old enough to understand what was going on. Sure, I was 19 when Great Grandpa passed, but I wasn’t the most mature 19 year old.

If I had my way, I’d go back and have conversations with my biological grandmother. I never really got to know her, through no choice of my own, and I think I missed out on a real character. I think it would explain some quirks in my personality as well.

But I’m without both people. So I can see Ryan’s point of view. He’d love to have what he had back, but, the future’s not so shady either.

Is there anyone you’d like to go back and talk to? Anyone you wished you’d made amends with? We can all relate.

One Way or Another

Imagine there’s a person you just can’t live without. Now imagine that person is with someone else. What would you do? Chase them? Walk away? That’s the situation Mindy, Arran and Sav find themselves in, in the book, Tangled Up.

This was another story I had a hard time writing. Not because the story didn’t flow or because I didn’t like the characters. Not at all. I loved all three and wanted them to have a happily ever after. I wanted to tell their story with grace and eloquence.

So why was it hard? There’s a lot of emotion in the three characters.

Mindy had Arran and lost him. She loved her husband through thick and thin, knew he was bisexual and still gave him space. The friendship-slash-salvation turned into love on her part. She carries the pain of watching him walk away and move on with another person. The love hasn’t faded, it’s just been packed away.

Sav has Arran and is afraid he’ll lose him. He didn’t set out to take Arran away from Mindy. In fact, they were all friends. Sav wanted the best for Arran—including hot, sweaty lovemaking. He’s got nothing against Mindy, but it’s never crossed his mind to make her anything more than a friend. He loves Arran and isn’t sure she can’t tear Arran away.

And then there’s Arran. He’s the selfish one—he wants both. The marriage to Mindy started out as a way to make his family happy. They weren’t thrilled their only son was gay. But, as much as he loved the friendship with Mindy, he also fell in love with her. She understood his mood swings, his needs, and still loved him. But then he met Sav. The guy is sex on legs. Who wouldn’t want to be with him? Sav’s got heart to match the passion blazing between them. What’s a guy to do? The only thing he can live with—needing them both.

How do you adequately tell their story? How do you show the heartbreak? That was my struggle.

At one point, I had all three characters saying, one way or another, I want this to work out. there were moments when I wanted to cry, to scream, and to thump each of them over the head. There’s a few twists in their story that, as I wrote, I didn’t see coming. I’m glad they did. Then again, tehre’s a whole heap of hot loving. Yeah, three bodies, tangled together is darned hot.

If You Leave – Cade and Melanie from You’ll Think of Me

I wanted to thank Brandy'z for having me and I wanted to say hi to everyone!! I’m so glad to be here and can’t wait to share my books with you. I’m Wendi Zwaduk and I write contemporary and paranormal romance that’s not for the faint of heart.

For today’s post, I thought I’d let some of my characters talk a bit. In the book, You’ll Think of Me, you meet Cade Nicholson and Melanie Roberts. There’s a boat load of strife before the book starts and when I talked with the characters, they wanted to discuss things that happened prior to the story. Melanie came up with the title of the post, so I’ll let her go last.

Thanks, Wendi. Hi. I’m Cade. I don’t like to talk or discuss my feelings, but there’s some stuff that’s happened, I thought, yanno, I might as well get it cleared up. Mel and I dated and got pretty hot. But I kinda screwed up. Kinda. My best friend, Rhett is a hound dog. He won’t admit it, but he is. He had this chick. She really wasn’t in to him, but she had a thing for me. The both of them pulled a fast one. But, I fell for it. Mel saw me in the room with Rhett and the chick. I can’t say I blame her, but she dumped me that night. It sucked. I told her, if you leave, don’t come back. She didn’t. Not right away. Then I begged. She came back, but things changed. I hated it. I’m determined to get her back into my life for something more than just sex. Think it’s possible?

Not his best move, but guys make mistakes. Sorry Cade. And now it’s Melanie’s turn. She’s sat next to me seething for the last ten minutes.

I did come up with the title for this post. And you guessed it—came right from what he said. It hurt. Seeing him with that woman. Sorry, I can’t say her name. It hurts a lot. But looking back, I’m just as guilty as he is. I mean, duh. I should’ve asked and talked it through with him. I let my emotions get the best of me. Things changed between us after that. We fooled around for the sake of fooling around. Nothing more. I hated it. I wanted to offer my heart, but once a cheater, isn’t he always a cheater? Ok, so it would’ve helped had I had actual proof. I never said I was perfect. But then there was the moment I was damned near certain I’d lost him. It wasn’t to a woman. Nope. It was to the war. He’d gone to Iraq. I got word he’d been hurt. Sources weren’t even sure if he’d made it out alive. I felt so guilty. When he left, we had an argument. Silly, since we weren’t a couple, but we did. I said, look, if you leave, come back. Just come home. I also told him, I hoped he’d think about me. I’d always think about him. Now he’s home. He’s distant, but he’s back. I’m not going to let him walk away this time without a fight.

Interested in their story? I am. Their story was hard to write. Cade’s came back a broken man. He’s not the most expressive guy and his injuries combined with his experiences have closed him off more. Melanie’s not one to back down, but she’s also smart enough to know when to give space. Will they make it? Guess you’ll have to read the book and find out.

Hello Everyone,

Over the next few days we will be talking about and with author Wendi Zwaduk . Here is alittle bit about our guest...

I always dreamed of writing the stories in my head. Tall, dark, and handsome heroes are my favorites, as long as he has an independent woman keeping him in line. I tend to write books with titles taken from songs because music is one of my many muses.

I earned a BA in education at Kent State university and as well as a Masters in Education from Nova Southeastern University. I've tried my hand at teaching, waitressing, and retail sales, but writing holds my heart.

I love NASCAR, romance, books in general, Ohio farmland, dirt racing, and my menagerie of animals. I have six books under contract and more than my brain can handle percolating. I can't wait to share them with you!

Turning Passive Writing into Active Writing

Since I've been seeing a lot of passive writing in the critiques I've been doing here lately, I thought I'd do an article on turning passive writing into active writing.

What do I mean by passive writing?

Writing that tells but doesn't show.

Passive example: Rose was mad.

What's wrong with the above sentence? Not much really. It does what it’s supposed to do, tell us Rose is mad. But it doesn't show us that Rose is mad.

Active writing example: Rose slammed the door closed then stomped through the room. “That jerk!” Picking up a flower filled vase, she hurled it against the wall.

Not a real great example but you get the idea. Notice I used the words: Stomped and Hurled. These are active verbs. I wanted to show action and anger even in my word choice.

Passive writing is that, passive. It doesn’t show the reader anything.

Have you noticed while watching a movie that when an actor portraying a character that is mad, he doesn’t just frown. He stomps, shouts and will nearly always breaks something. He’s showing us he’s mad. And in writing we need to show it too.

Ideas: Where do they come from?

I’ve been writing for a few years now and one of the questions readers ask the most is, “Where do your ideas come from?” I’ve given the same answer every time I’m asked. “They come from everywhere.”

Now, I’m not being flippant or dismissive of their question. It’s the truth. Ideas are everywhere you look—books, magazines, television, songs, the news, the mall, real life… The list is endless. Most authors see the same things everyone else does on a day-to-day basis, but authors ask that all-important question: What if?

Harker’s Journey, the first book in my Dalakis Passion vampire series, started in just that way. I’d been thinking about writing a vampire story and, of course, that got me thinking about the grandfather of all vampire books, Bram Stoker’s Dracula. I pondered about the original characters and asked that all-important question: What if? What if a descendant of Jonathan Harker had to retrace his steps and go to Transylvania to meet with a mysterious client? What if that descendant was female? Thus Johanna Harker was born. And who was her mysterious client? He was none other than Cristofor Dalakis, the eldest of the three Dalakis vampires. The story of their romance unfolded from there.

Now we’ve all seen the women’s magazines while we’re waiting in line at the checkout at the grocery store. The headlines blare: “How to drive your man crazy in bed? Seven sex tips, etc…) I started asking myself the question: What if the heroine was reading an article about how to seduce a man— Seven Sex Positions That Will Drive You Both Wild—and trying to hide it from her brothers? And what if the man she’d had a crush on for years returns home for the summer? That’s the premise for Erin’s Fancy and let’s just say things got steamy from there.

I’ve used retail settings in my books quite often. Why? Because I worked in retail for about twenty years. I know it well. As for songs, I use them for inspiration. Nickelback’s “Never Again” helped inspire the beginning scene in Craving Candy. Evanescence’s “Bring Me to Life” and Annie Lennox’s “Love Song for a Vampire” set the tone for the story of vampire Stefan Dalakis in Stefan’s Salvation.

Talking with a romance chat group online inspired my story “Sunshine for a Vampire” in the Ellora’s Cavemen: Seasons of Seduction III anthology. We were chatting about how vampires always seem to be tall, dark and brooding. I wondered: What if a female vampire was short, plump and blonde? How would that affect her relationship with other vampires? Would she be an outcast? Thus, my Cinderella-style vampire romance story was born.

Now, I love the Washington Irving story, “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and wanted to base a book around it. I decided my heroine would be an academic researching legend in literature and it brings her to Sleepy Hollow at Halloween. Add in an immortal shadow warrior and a headless horseman who may or may not be real and Out of Shadows took off from there.

As you can plainly see, ideas come from everywhere. Writers find inspiration everywhere. So if you see us at a café somewhere staring off into space, remember we’re not daydreaming, we’re busy asking that all-important question and plotting our next book.

Write What You Know

When I began this crazy ride on the “writing bug”, as I so lovingly call it, I read a fabulous piece of advice. “Write what you know.” I was nodding my head in solemn agreement until I was shaking my head in shame. I’m a full time wife and mama of three. What the heck do I know?

As you can imagine, I was quite downtrodden by this realization. Especially when I read about writers who had lived much more worldly lives—literally traveling around the world, attending writing conferences in the Bahamas, scuba diving, hang-gliding, climbing Mt. Everest. If they had other occupations besides writing, they were way cooler than mine. They were doctors, lawyers, college professors. They’d all read 50,000 books and had written 10,000. I could never aspire to such great things, sitting here pecking at my little keyboard while my two-year old son climbs the “mommy jungle gym”.

Nevertheless, I kept pecking away, surrendering to the bug’s direction and after a while my thinking changed. It was a “Yes, Virginia, There Is a Santa Claus” kind of thing. The key to writing what I knew wasn’t Out There beyond my grasp. It was inside me, around me, hidden away in my memories, experiences, and every interaction I’d had with the people I love most in life.

With a new spring in my step (or typing fingers), I ran with this new idea and as a result, I think my writing has a truer voice now. In every story I write, themes of family, marriage, children, trust, forgiveness, and unconditional love emerge. And it took nothing more than really looking into who I am. The “who” is so much more than just a mom.

Growing up in rural Kentucky, I learned what it was like to live just above the poverty level. I lived through my grandmother’s death from Alzheimer’s and my mother’s death from lung cancer. Last year, my stepdad became ill and had to be placed in a nursing home, and my nephew died—it was a rough year. Through these hard times, though, I understand what it’s like to grieve, to be a caregiver, and to keep going when it feels like the world should stop for my heartache. Pain from events like these inspired this line from A Ranger’s Tale—“Clocks ticked, insistent reminders of time moving on when we didn’t want to”.

As in everyone’s case, my life hasn’t been a complete downer. The joys and blessings far outweigh the losses. On March 29, 1989, I became a Christian at the age of twelve. Faith has played a major role in my life, and comes out in my stories. It’ll be more evident in my work in progress, Serenya’s Song.

Of course, love is at the core of my romance tales. At the age of sixteen, my husband and I began dating and have been married for almost fourteen years now. Still very much in love, he inspires the romantic aspects of my stories. We’ve had three beautiful children. I was blessed to be able to deliver them all without so much as a pain pill and nursed them all for a year apiece. Being a mom is the best and hardest job I’ve ever had, and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Consequently, marriage and children play a big role in A Ranger’s Tale and many of my other stories too.

Other aspects of life as I know it—a degree in biology, working in various service industries, books, movies, games, cooking, and other hobbies—fuel my writing as well. I’m happy and proud to say that there’s a lot more to Mysti than “just a mom”. So, if you think you’re in the “just a ___” camp, think again. Frank Cottrell Boyce summed my thoughts up quite succinctly in the article “The Parent Trap: Art After Children”. He says, “What is "me", if not the sum of all my relationships and obligations?” (http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2010/aug/01/art-children-pram-hallway)

Maybe you’re a mom, a grandmother, a nurse, a dental hygienist, a teacher, a librarian, a computer programmer. Whatever you are, you’ve got a whole treasure chest of inspiration right inside and right around you. Use it, run with it, and give your writing a voice only YOU can give. Write what you know, because even if you haven’t climbed Mt. Everest nor have three PhDs under your belt, the sum of your experiences is a story in itself.

At times, I loved my mentor. It was a pity the BMC let him go. So many people like me needed a teacher like him.

Just like Jared’s death, the BMC’s abandonment of Dom made no sense. Why would they get rid of one of their best teachers?

I gasped as it came to me as clearly as a premonition. I felt my connection with Damian flair as my mind went into shock, putting pieces together that I didn’t know fit. It couldn’t be…

It made too much sense not to.

I looked up at Dom. “Why didn’t the BMC save you from Marcellus?” I asked with my voice barely above a whisper.

It was the most obvious question, one that should have been asked the moment the vampire necromancer died. I had been too busy grieving over Jared to think straight.

Damian kept the metaphysical lines between us open, listening but careful not to say a word to distract me. I could feel him in my head, and I didn’t mind, one less person to tell.

Dom looked into my eyes and I could see indecision filling their black depths. He sighed as he backed away, and I thought that he decided not to tell when he faced me and said, “They ordered me to kill you.”

“And?” I asked. My blood ran cold. I felt the wolf inside me tense, preparing for an attack.

“And I refused,” Dom growled with disbelief written on his features. “Sarah, you’re like a daughter to me. I could never cause you harm.”

“What did the BMC do?”

“They said that they understood. The next day they sent me to take out Marcellus.”

I licked my lips. “They sent a vampire to kill a vampire necromancer?”

“Yes, that’s…” Dom froze. “They set me up.”

“No. I don’t think they did.”

“How do you figure? Sarah, I was controlled…”

“By a creature sent here to kill Damian, not me.”

Dom cocked his head to the side, and I screamed with frustration that he wasn’t putting it altogether.

“Think about it Dom! There are four people that I can fully trust; you, Donavan, Jared, and Damian.”

“Go on.”

“They sent Marcellus here to kill Damian. If he had succeeded, that would have taken care of one of my four. In doing so, the throne of Charleston would have been open to him, and I would be out of a safe place to live. Donovan should have killed you for killing his Weres. I should have been kicked out of the Clan for letting the dead Weres happen on my watch. Luckily, Donavan is more understanding than the BMC give him credit for. I would have been out of another safe house as well as a Clan to protect me. You, a vamp would sacrifice his own life to keep me safe. Jared…” I couldn’t say any more, and Dom started nodding as he thought it over.

“I can’t believe they would do this,” he said.

Donavan came over as Dom said these words. “Who?”

“The Blood Moon Corporation,” Dom and I said in unison.

“We’ve got to tell Damian,” Dom said as he dug into his pocket for his phone.

“There’s no need,” I said before he could pull it out. “He’s been in my head listening since I figured it out.”

I felt Damian’s anger rise to the surface, and suddenly I saw Damian as though I actually stood in his office. His black hair, once long enough to touch his knees, now barely brushed his shoulders. His plum-colored eyes burned with anger as he pulled book after book off the bookcase against his back wall.

Oh, and incase you were curious, I do have plans for a fourth Sarah Vargas book. Only time will tell when I'll get around to working on. I've got quite a bit on my WIP list.

Hello! I’m Heather Kuehl and I am an author with Eternal Press. I prefer writing paranormal/fantasy/romance, but I have been known to dabble in other genres. Now, for your viewing pleasure, here’s Chapter One of MALEVOLENT DEAD:

The night is dark, full of violence and mystery. The cycle of the moon rules all. I stand outside, gazing at this thing that controls me three days a month. Once upon a time I thought werecreatures and vampires were in fairy tales, alive only in books and in the imaginations of humans. Now, I hunt them for a living. My tiny fortune grows daily with every kill.

My name is Sarah Vargas, and I am a werewolf. But I wasn’t always a Were. Five years ago a werewolf attacked me and tore my throat out. I was clinically dead, but by some “miracle” I survived. I knew something about me was different. I just didn’t feel human anymore. That day my human side was killed. Although I am alive, I hardly feel like it. I have one goal: to pay back the Were that killed me.

But first, there is business to attend to.

I am in an alley in Boston, Massachusetts. Not a good place for a girl to be alone, especially at night. I cross my arms, letting my hands slide over the knife sheaths on my wrists. I’m starting to get impatient while I wait for my partner. I don’t really know what his deal is. All I know is he has a vendetta quite like mine. I take a drag on my cigarette, impatience starting to get the better of me. As I exhale, he turns the corner, walking purposefully toward me.

Jared Fontaine is the epitome of a bad boy rocker. Numerous tattoos cover his arms. His eyebrow is pierced along with his lower lip. Today he wears black jeans tucked into his boots. A blue muscle tee shows off

his perfect physique. A black leather duster hides his many blades and guns. His wavy brown hair is pulled back into a ponytail, exposing scars on the left side of his neck. He is heavy metal hot, and he knows it.

“Who does the BMC want us to kill today?” he asks. His thick British accent still makes my knees weak, even though we have worked together for the past six months.

The BMC, or the Blood Moon Corporation, is a group of bounty hunters and politicians. I joined them soon after I was turned into a Were. They consist of just about every type of supernatural creature, and even a few humans. According to rumors, the BMC was originally called the Blood Moon Guild. It is said that a vampire, Were, witch, and shifter formed it during the Black Plague. The Blood Moon Guild formed to try

and keep the rouge Weres and vamps in line. Note the word “try.” The founder of the Blood Moon Guild hired bounty hunters into their payroll once they realized their attempts weren’t good enough. By 1928, the

Blood Moon Guild dropped the title of Guild and added on the title of Corporation. It is much like a corporation now, with locations all over the world. We get assignments to kill. For the right price that is. Some of us have preferences. I don’t like killing humans unless they are pure evil. I’m not sure if Jared has any stipulations about killing. I’ve never bothered to ask.

“Our assignment is to go Charleston, South Carolina and eliminate two vamps,” I say. I don’t bother with a greeting. It is straight to business with us.

“Do we have names?”

“Jackilin and Jerrikin Skyner.”

“Aren’t those the vamp twins? Didn’t the BMC have a hit out on them before?”

I take another drag. “Yes, but they killed the last bounty hunters that crossed their paths. They want us to give it a go.”

“Any reason?” Jared asks.

“Werecreature murders. A lot of them.”

Jared smiles. He knows I don’t like Weres “Why agree to this?”

I narrow my eyes. I hate to be reminded of my dislike for my own race. “The price is right.”

Jared nods, his eyes showing that he really doesn’t believe a word I say. I don’t care. Jared’s just my partner, and I don’t give a shit about his opinions.

“When do we leave?”

“Within the hour. We’re taking a red-eye flight out.” I toss the still smoldering butt on the ground and turn to walk back toward my apartment. I feel Jared’s eyes watching me as I walk. He reminds me of a hawk watching its prey. I feel like an insignificant mouse.

I’m so preoccupied with Jared that I almost miss it. The faintest scent of a wolf. Not just any wolf, but the one that attacked me. I stop dead in my tracks and sniff in the scent. It isn’t much, but it’s enough to tell me

he’s nearby. My breath catches in my throat. Am I really this close to my goal? My newest assignment surfaces in my mind. “Damn,” I mutter. In a matter of hours, I’ll leave this creature to ruin more innocent lives. I close my eyes, taking the scent to memory. I vow that when I return home, I’ll find and kill him. He’s lucky this time, but his luck is about to run out.

I stand in front of my apartment door, keys dangling in my hand. I close my eyes and send my wolf instincts to search my home. Not my literal wolf of course, just the essence of my Were self. I smell and taste the air. I listen. When I’m certain no one is inside, I unlock the door and let myself in.

My apartment is small; perfect for little bounty hunter me. The kitchen, living room, and dining room are all open. A one bed, one bath abode. My apartment looks like that of any other female in her late

twenties lives here. Lavishly decorated and fully stocked with food. My bedroom, on the other hand, is anything but. Blades cover the walls. It is my workout room. My death room.

What can I say about this book other than I love it!!!

     We all know what holiday just passed, the ever popular and the often dreaded, Valentine's Day. And while we all may have different ideas about VD (I just love calling it that) we all know that during February everyone wants to talk about LOVE. Being in LOVE. Getting some LOVE. Showing LOVE. Reaidng about LOVE.


     Therefore, in the spirit of LOVE, I wish to remind everyone LOVE knows no bounds. LOVE knows no gender.

     LOVE is LOVE.

     And as romance writer, I suppose I am in the business of spreading the LOVE.

     No, I am not wearing a diaper or those gold shorts that Angel of Love is wearing either.

     What kind of LOVE am I spreading lately? Where are my arrows of Love and Lust being directed?

     Why hot man on man luvin’ of course!

     My fave thing to read and write.

     Have you ever read an m/m romance? That stands for male/male as I so awkwardly had to explain to my mother. As a woman who still cringes at the P-word (you know which one I mean)and finds that same bit of
anatomy ‘icky,’ how could I convince her of the appeal of two gorgeous men together?

     I couldn’t.

     So I just lied and said, "Well, it’s popular, Ma and I wanna sell books."

     Why is this?

     Because two men in LOVE is a beautiful thing. What a gift to be allowed
to follow the special journey of two strong males as they let their guards down and become intimate together amidst prejudice, hatred, fears, intricate plots and obstacles! It is a Happily Ever After you have to read to believe.

     As a "Literary Cupid," my goal is to convert as many women as possible into reading m/m. I have converted most of my friends, I am happy to say!
